O Little Earth, You Present Fruits of Primal Seed

O Little Earth, You Present Fruits Of Primal Seed O little earth, wonder rests in thy glorious all You allow mankind but what is he truly worth Is he no more than an insect, so very small Gazing at bright Heavens confused by mighty earth To we, you giveth honey from thy heaving breasts And the purest sweetness of your clearwater to drink Bounty of night's black darkness for to sleep and rest And wonders of our human minds for us to think. O little earth, you present fruits of primal seed Have you jewels hid, waiting for our greedy hands Do you hold even more to harvest for our needs And in reality, blessings even more in your lands! O little earth dare we from you take all and even more. With ravenous greed, we desire an even bigger score! Robert J. Lindley, Sonnet Feb 20th , 1973 "" You our planet allowing us to bear and breed.""

An awesome write of what Planet Earth offers and what in greedy return humanity takes from her. I see this is one of your earlier poems, such talent. I maybe should post one of my earlier poems in fact my first one when I was 14. Be well my friend, Hugs and blessings, Jennifer,

A nice tribute sonnet to the earth, Robert. We pay so little respect to the blessings we've been given. Our misuse of them will be our demise in the end. I hope your travel is going well. Enjoy your vacation, my dear friend. Bill

Hello Robert my friend. This is such a wonderful, thoughtful sonnet and as Vijay says, although it was written year ago, it is still, if not even more so, relevant today. ‘Have you jewels hid, waiting for our greedy hands’ - great impact Robert and the ending couplet too. So enjoyed it, as always, from your poetic, masterful pen. :):)

Thank you, very much my friend. Yes, today it applies even more than when it was first composed... Mans plunder of the earth is at the fastest rate ever now. GOD BLESS....

To we, you giveth honey from thy heaving breasts And the purest sweetness of your clearwater to drink Bounty of night's black darkness for to sleep and rest And wonders of our human minds for us to think--this beautiful poem honoring earth is as relevant to day as it was then. Such graceful voice my friend to express our gratitude!

Thank you, my friend. I was but a mere 19 years old when I composed it. It has been presented as was first written , with no editing. God bless you.
