November

No other month dresses nature in such beauty of fiery colors Or hears so much prayer in thanksgiving as the one in autumn. Verses come naturally, blessed by bountiful harvest even as Embers of Indian summer bring special memories with warmth. Many songs are written as cold days approach and more will Be born for the wonder of the cycle of life, as words we find Embraced within the artist’s heart, happy with homecoming; Remaining there not for long, words find freedom in a poem. 09 August 2015

I agree with Becca. In my opinion one of the keys to a good acrostic is in the flow of the poem. This is an excellent one, Kim.

Sorry it didn't. I'm sure it would have done well, I did a silly one but was too late for the contest.

hi, i finally caught up with you! what a pity this didn't enter the contest, some kind of glitch; it's always a good idea to check your contest page after entering to make sure it has gone through...this is a very well written acrostic and would certainly have placed, probably quite high...i particularly like the phrases "happy with homecoming" and "words find freedom in a poem"; it's a lovely seasonal poem :) i hope you feel better soon!

Thanks you so much, Charlotte! It's the first time this happened to me. Yes, I sure will check not only for the confirmation, but the contest page as well. I so appreciate your critique. I feel much better, thank you once again! :-)

As I sit here hot, tired, . . . longing for a cool breeze -- your words broke upon me, splashes of colors danced before my eyes, leaves rush by me in a cold breeze from the north . . . hope stirs in my heart, my imagination freed to dream again! Missed You!

November is a lovely month, even though it is also connected with remembrance of departed dear ones. You dress your poem in delightful colours, a joy for any artist. I love Indian summers, a most lovely time to go swimming before winter arrives. gl in the contest. ~ Hugs // paul

Everyone is picking months to write poems about. Interesting. Dying embers and words burst forward to find freedom in a poem. Other then that, it is perfect. Jim Horn

Thank you for your visit, James. By the way, I never wrote "Dying". As for "...words find freedom in a poem", it happens to be my favorite line here. May I direct you to Charlotte Puddifoot's (Contest sponsor) critique above? I respect her opinion very much.
