nothing to see here

A crowd had gathered outside the malt shop. Some people had gotten out of the line for their blizzards. This interested me, so I pushed myself into the crowd. Nothing to see here! A carnival barker type was barking. Let me be the judge of that! A woman’s voice sang out. The crowd doubled, tripled, and quadrupled. We were big now. I heard a cheer go up from the front, but I could not see anything. Here he is! Someone yelled. I was thinking king or president. More cheering. Closer to me now. I could see a tiny bit of the street. An elephant riding a walking egg walked by. “Nothing to see here!” the carnival barker said. Getting it right for the second time.
