No Jewel Shines

No jewel shines brighter now, for me, than when my grandchild's eyes I see. For there all facets gleam and shine more precious than gems deemed divine. From those eyes sunlight warms the day, night's sleepy eyes hide stars away. On each new morn they sparkle bright, and shimmer singing, "I am Light." They twinkle mischief while at play, are quiet gold when time to pray. Aglow they stream as diamond tears, one hug they beam out, joy, not fears. We need no monarch's treasure chest, our grandchild's starlit eyes are best. Through them we see past heaven's door, to where jeweled eyes gleam, evermore! No Jewel Shines *For Naomi, JuliEtta, and Remington
