Nightmare
One night I had a dream
A legion of demons chasing me
In the middle of night in the woods
Stumbling on the ghostly tree roots
I was running in a nightmarish daze
Dry branches scratching my face
Tying my arms with whitish charms
Of spider webs scattered
Loose in the thickness of night
I felt the wind touching my face
In a mortal terrifying chase
I was about to escape
But the earth opened wide
And I fell in to the water pool
Reflecting green face of the moon
Laughing at me in a loud
Echoing cold chuckling sound
The water embraced me
And kissed my cheeks
I felt my mother’s arms
Around me for a moment
Of sweet comforting relief
But then I woke up in freezing
Water holding my arms
Tied in a knot behind my back
in a strange eerie way
That happens in dreams
When you can fly
But you can’t scream
With mouth open wide
And words stuck in my throat
Dry chapped lips
Begging for escape
But no sound leaving my chest
I tried to get break of the
Hold of freezing waters
With my eyes open wide
Holding on the branches
Of the trees tops high in the sky
Where I saw the first rays of sun
Breaking the horizon line
Hanging on the hope
Not to lose the sight
Till morning comes
So my dream can be broken
In to pieces like a scattered glass
and locked in the dark corner
where nightmares belong
So I can wake up in the morning
And not remember
Last night’s terrifying journey
