New Fall

Here's a new fall sonnet for a new fall. Once again I am completely enthralled Crystal clear beauty that is all around. Multi colored leaves scattered on the ground. Sun at a slant but with it's focus sharp. Shines low on the scenes that capture my heart. Frost in the air from advancing winter. Just the thought of it makes my heart splinter. Cozy nights knitting by the open fire. Grandchildren things, they are my heart's desire. New year ahead, new wonders to unfold. Sometimes it is nice to be getting old. Time to savor nature's gifts that abound. Before I myself end up underground. 11/11/2019 Writing Challenge, December - Any Poem Na'd in November 2019 sponsor, Dear Heart - Wiishkobi Ode from For New Fall Sonnets Poetry Contest. Contest deadline 30/11/2019. Judged 28/11/2019.

Thank you Eve. I obviously have a certain style and know well my limitations now. I have self published five books of sixty poems, all embossed on relevant photos. For my own use only of course. I'm hoping if my daughters ever stumble on the stash they will enjoy them.

absolutely charming Jean, hope you get those grandchildren one day. I especially love the lines 'Sun at a slant but with it's focus sharp. Shines low on the scenes that capture my heart' I do find the low sun a pain when I'm driving to/from work though!good luck in the contest:-) hugs Jan x

Jan, I was heart warmed last evening to see my Poetrysoup parents still taking the time to comment on my efforts here. Autumn must be my favourite time of year. I certainly have more that a few poems about it now. Lovely as always to hear from you. Thank you.
