Mysteries of Love

Mysteries Of Love 2/14/12 Tales of passion told through an old man’s eyes with hands calloused yet strong, speak loudly of his love for beautiful maiden now gone beyond his reach, touch forever. She was of European descent with eyes dark brown of color and skin cool yet ivory smooth, Grace Elegance defined became one following her on travels near, seldom Lovers were they spending time gazing at the crescent moon counting the stars on chilly nights watching skies for hours at a time, endlessly Time was theirs to hold to taste to devour or so it seemed memories being made as days went by in a blink now the aged man recalls, sadness is his to wear. Where did our love go? Why must I now travel alone along these lonely streets without purpose stolen was my lady took away without warning like a thief in the night, quickly it was done. Mysteries of love haunt my everyday thoughts like a ship navigating through mist and fog thick, Heart is my compass broke by life’s long hand Black. Tired weary from nights denied of sleep Shadows follow me to and fro always there lurking in the darkness like an enemy unseen, however known by reputation. Once the enchanting maiden was mine and I hers as we loved without hesitation, hearts, souls, lives intertwined we were one in life and shall be again in the next as her face forever shines upon me. © 2012 David J.
