My Poetry Suit
I do not get around so much
To see my friends in brand new prose
I guess I'm feeling out of touch
With all the things I've seen they've sewed
I like the lyrics that they wear
Laced up tight or button down
Upon their wrist or in their hair
A sonnet with an evening gown
I think a Haiku's what I need
All pulled back, or cut real short
With rhinestones mix with colored beads
And couplets of other sorts
Yes, I do not get around so much
But when I do I like to dress
I wear a rhyme, a song or such
And hope they don't think I'm a mess
