My Poetry Suit

I do not get around so much To see my friends in brand new prose I guess I'm feeling out of touch With all the things I've seen they've sewed I like the lyrics that they wear Laced up tight or button down Upon their wrist or in their hair A sonnet with an evening gown I think a Haiku's what I need All pulled back, or cut real short With rhinestones mix with colored beads And couplets of other sorts Yes, I do not get around so much But when I do I like to dress I wear a rhyme, a song or such And hope they don't think I'm a mess

When we have not been letting God bless, Our minds may always end up in a mess; If to Him we forget to pray, we did discover sadness and dismay; When you look nice and are properly suited, in a branch of service are sure to be recruited; Having read haiku written by Horn, A magnificent poem in your mind will be born.

Jerry, it has indeed been a while. I am so glad I saw and read this. Very playful as many of your works are. Yours was the first contest I ever entered here in the soup. A response to Becca's Cat hat cafe. Thank you for that and all you do for this forum. -- Dean
