My Child

I love many things my child, I love rainy days, the smell of the earth soaked, And flowers boasting of their apparel. I love wintry nights and starry skies, And the melody they hum of sights they've seen. I love pointless walks and the thoughts they bring, And strangers encountered in separate universes. I love music and its power to release, And the feelings that refuse to stay hid at its symphony. I love food, the sweet and sour, And its pull on loved ones to meet. I love spirits that dare to run wild, the purity of their tears, And the beauty of their purpose. I love many, many things my child, But none more than the lilt of your laughter and the feel of your arms around my neck. -laulindah #thehundredth
