Morning At the Farm
I toss some scratch out on the dirt as I sit and watch the chickens peck
A pair of doves float to the ground,
To enjoy the morning treat,
They speak in soft and cooing sounds,
As side by side they eat,
The image is so sweet;
Now the chickadees
swoop down to steal a small bite,
Then they fly off to the tree,
They chirp and enjoy
as they eat their bit of corn;
Feathers gleaming in the sun;
A blue bird spots the seeds and flies down,
To join the feast upon the ground.
