Monopoly Money

Started out even but You know that because (My fault) It was only a game You were just Entertaining That was really My mistake. You Took my foundation you Stayed over you Paid rent and you parked In my mind in my heart I thought you’d just be passing through (You weren’t) Well we weren’t even then You know that because You’d been throwing your Monopoly money at me you’d been Taking up residence just to Stay for a while But really you never left But really I didn’t realize But really You Turned it all around and you Shook the board my houses collapsed Red scattered I can still see it in your Sweet cherry kiss Green crashed to the ground it’s in your Sea glass gaze I’ve landed on you And your soft pretty hair And your dazzling smile And your heart, I think I’ll never have the Monopoly money To make you let me stay but What have I got To lose
