Thought about writing a fun song or poem for Christmas about a pretty girl being ignored standing under the mistletoe.  It slowly evolved, though would probably need to be reworked if I were to sing it.

Mistletoe
Who’s she expecting ‘neath the mistletoe?
The guys here all are taken. She looks so forsaken
And she’s such a pretty gal.
Who’s she expecting ‘neath the mistletoe?
Seems the party’s running down, still no guy’s come around,
To steal kiss from a pretty gal.
She was my pal, so very nice.
I’ll admit I’ve kissed her twice or thrice,
But I hadn’t seen her in a while.
Seeing her was like an allegory,
Or another Hallmark Christmas story.
Every time I looked, she flashed me a smile.
Who’s she expecting ‘neath the mistletoe?
The poor gal looked dejected, so lonesome and rejected.
For pity’s sake, someone kiss the gal!
So I joined her beneath the mistletoe.
“Took you long enough”, she said, as she pulled down my head,
And I stole a kiss from a pretty gal.
I have to say that kiss was nice,
So again I kissed her twice or thrice.
And have been kissing her ever since.
So like a Hallmark Christmas story,
I went down in a blaze of glory -
This ex-bachelor wasn’t too hard to convince.
