Memories On the Breeze
I am lying in a sunlit field of clover
chewing on a blade of grass.
The sweet sap brings forth memories
of love, as it used to be.
Gentle touch of the summer wind
flitting across my bare back
like a lovers kiss, feathery, enticing,
sending shudders of delight through my veins
As quickly as love awoke my soul
it is crushed by words of goodbye
All I have left are memories on the breeze
tearing my soul apart.
So I lie here, heart full of thoughts
looking for the sign that your near.
A butterfly lands upon my arm
it's soft caress telling me
You're here, forever at my side ......
