Who is this soldier we memorialize Who fought in wars then he dies Even though he had to be scared For into the face of death he stared A courageous soldier who served his country true Willing to put his life on the line for you A warrior who went through strife Physically and mentally so you could have life The men and women who for our country fought A Memorial Day to honor them we ought Please don't forget the purpose of this day On the last Monday of May

What a beautiful tribute, I hope many poets realize their freedom to write was only because brave men defended that right!
