Melting
The ice that incases the cold thing I call my heart has began to thin.
Slowly the warmth hidden deep inside begins to creep out.
My heartbeat can be heard.
A slight stutter.
So delicate,
At any moment it will vanish.
And everything will freeze.
So long it has been frozen.
So long it has been silenced.
How dare it beat now?
Now that it would be so beautiful not to feel?
As it beats I think of what made it so cold.
The people I saw.
The broken souls.
But steady it beats,
As it melts so slow.
