Mama Africa
Real African Woman!
True African Woman!
Free born African Woman!
Divine touch of finest hands
Long hair, steady eyes, dark brows,
And catchy looks
Free born African woman
The envy of the universe
I thougt it was all rumour
I took it to be fantasy
As i slumbered in the comfort of your belly,
then i thought it was a dream
When the winds mumured your goodness
When the vultures plotted against you
And when the earth paid you tribute
Oh! Fearless woman of the forest
You stood the storms and tides
And each thought of me,
Triggered hope and courage
This free born African woman
With sunken jaws and painful limbs
With fallen breast in her tattered clothing
Has sworn to bravery and courage
And has crushed all her adversaries
But now a fallen heroen,
That needs to become sober
After being injected with the cobra's venom
That which forcefully harshed me from your womb
Oh free born African woman
I wish to hear your tale
Rebuild your strength again,
And walk along with me,
let me be your armor
and light your lamb at night.
