Makeover

She’s sitting in the corner, Drinking coke and watching fox, While musing that she’s single, In her fuzzy socks and crocs. She’s whining to her buddy, Why is she not single too? She says cos I do not own crocs, So here’s what you should do! My friend works in a salon, That’s just five minutes away, I’ll say you need a makeover, She’ll fit you in today! She calls with an appointment, The nerves now kicking in, But transformation time’s arrived. Life change now can begin. She travels to the salon, No-one laughs as up she rocks, That is until they set eyes on, Her fuzzy socks and crocs. Confronted by the manager, A date I hear’s your plan? Well we can’t offer guarantees, We’ll do the best we can! A head shake as the crocs are spied, Though try to keep straight face, The T-shirt worn from 92, She really must replace. Her hair is washed then cut and styled, Some facial hair exhumed, She’s never had a makeover, Not quite what she presumed! And then she’s shown a catalogue, Of sporty summer wear, But no surprise when she looks through, No fuzzy socks in there. There aren’t any crocs either, Just some lovely shorts and sneakers, Worn by lots of single girls, As they are boyfriend seekers. She makes her choice and waits a while, They’ve got them in the back, And while she waits she casts her eyes, On the recycle sack. That’s where her socks and croc should go, For her that’s such a wrench, She doesn’t even realise, Those socks have quite a stench! The girl returns with her new clothes, She’s looking so much better, The girl picks up the crocs to throw, She’s still not keen to let her. And as she’s packing up to leave, A trendy man walks in, He smiles at her, enchanted now , She’s well taken him in. He says I love the way you look, I know it’s rude to stare, Tonight I’ve got a party, And I’ve no date to take there. The moral of this story, Don’t be sad when someone mocks, But in the rubbish, throw away, All fuzzy socks and crocs!
