Maidens Lament

Maiden's Lament Rewinding the memories of angst lost, broken Our souls make solemn demands against our hearts Thoughts uneasy, shattered, remembering time's lies Deliver us, reluctant, unto today's reckoning revealed Believing yet another, today's promise is unspoken Love and solace abound in time of yesterday's pain Maiden enthralled within, peace is found upon the mist Innocence remains for the chosen, pain forbidden now Living through the windows of tomorrow, pathways ascending Dreams realized within her heart, a oneness is embraced Joys released without hesitation, spirits renewed forever Beauty and enchantment unrehearsed, life's danger's forgotten © 1997 David J.
