Loyalty To My Ex

You love him, you want him He doesn’t want you You’ve had no one for so long just the person that you knew He’s stuck in your head Glued to your mind Friends say forget him There’s new guys to find The loyalty shown, You never did cheat, His love was enough For you to retreat You thought you were comfortable the relationship shared Was so pure with love That you wasn’t aware The evil, the nasty He was drifting from you The sweet caring person, that you thought that you knew Was gone, what was left? Just a stranger behind His love had run out, the truth could not hide You try to move on, but there’s no way you could You feel nothing but empty where true love once stood. By Rosie Hill

With genders reversed, I too, can relate. You put everything into a relationship and then you hit the iceberg and visions of the Titanic flash in your head.

I really appreciate this verse done so well. It flows so well, for a non flowing subject. I can so relate, as I think many would. Happened to me, and the moving on part...so difficult after what seems a lifetime. Beautifully written, Rosie.

Thankyou so much, I’m so glad you enjoyed it. Probably my favourite poem that I have wrote due to the easy flow and the way I poured the words out. Xx

Hello Rosie Hill, I understand this poem so well. I was married for 4years onthe 4th year we went to Cuba and it was there that he cheated on me. Not on the second week we were there the 2nd day, For two hours in her bedroom. He came out head hanging low, she was very cheerful. So i do understand your poem.

I totally agree, so therapeutic- I almost feel like I’m cleansing my soul of any emotion I’ve ever felt by putting it into words as a poem. I’ve never found a better way to deal with my feelings. Thankyou, I’m glad you’ve enjoyed reading it

I’m glad I have, my ex was my first love and I’ve never been able to get closure when we broke up.
