Love To Miss
I've said, "My one and only Love,
let me keep you for a while,"
The moonlight shines on both of us-
but in the morning she will dip.
Our heart's have murmured times before
quiet whispers in the night;
How long has every lover stayed. .
for years? 'Til morning light?
I won't reproach one for their past,
no matter sin or life you're dealt
But if you leave my soul to be,
abrupt and pain'fly suddenly
I may regret the pleasure, felt.
I can't say I've ever felt this way-
this Love you'll one day cast
So if one day I'm left behind,
I guess nothing's meant to last.
