Love To Me
Some time between the moment I met him, and now,
I discovered not what love means, but what it means to me.
I learned it is not just an emotion, or simply devotion,
But the will to be the best you can be.
Love is a choice; a commitment, and a promise to the soul.
Filling up space in a permanent place in your heart.
Love is the happiness felt within eachother, and the agony
Felt while apart.
Love is not selfish, nor vain, or even the slightest bit spiteful;
Love is true, and humble, not proud.
And it has no beginning or end. Love is eternal;
Forever, and always- the ultimate lover, and friend.
Love is a gift to ones self, and another- a vow to be honest,
And true.
A humbling gift of happiness, I wish to bestow upon you.
I present you my soul, and hand you my heart.
May you keep it until my last breath.
Hold me to my promises, vows, and devotion;
My love is as strong as my death.
