Love That Lasts

Abiding love is a gift from above bestowing favor to one special love caring, committed and being kind doing the hard thing, sacrifice in mind enjoying one another’s company forever grateful for you and me going the distance to the very end having and being each other’s best friend interests shared, and taking the time just to listen to your thoughts and mine kinship that develops over the years loving the good times, sharing the tears may be moments that cause great strife no matter how hard, we’ll make it right over the years, we seek help from the Lord purposeful prayer, to trust Him more questions may go unanswered, but we rest in His promises and let them be so now we’ll continue to sojourn as one trusting His care and trusting the Son undying love, with a strong bond we share venturing forward, and being aware wanting to please, and letting it show xenial ways bring pleasure that grows youthful exuberance, breaking the mold zest for living, together, as we grow old. Best abecedarian poem I have ever read. It flowed so well I didn't catch the form at first. SO GOOD.

Laura, you nailed this form of poetry. In doing so gave a spiritual witness that is so upbuilding. I cannot express myself the way other comments have praised you, so I will just say, DITTO!

A good relationship is spiritual - your poem places emphasis on that - My wife and I will be married 45 years in September and our journey has been His most precious blessing.

WoW! Laura You composed such a well-written piece for the content. You made this form look easy; I know firsthand that it is not. I found it to be beautiful and romantic. Lovely rhymes and content as well. Best wishes in the contest. Excellent job. Have a nice day:-) Alexis

Laura, this form is a challenging one, and you handle it with such flair... your lines are seamless. Your message of committed love is beautiful with many examples of what keeps a couple going strong after many years... sacrifice, shared interests, making time together, kindness, a shared faith in God. Your rhymes and flow make this an even more delightful read. Blessings, dear friend ~ John

Thank you, John, for appreciating this one. I saw the contest and wanted to try this form again, after so many years. I usually try to make it rhyme, as well and feel it flows better that way. Hugs! :)
