This would be a haiku (American style) were it not for the door you have so cleverly drawn. That makes it a concrete. Good job!

Short but very significant. Some people are short of hearing, others pretend not to hear, some are hesitant...but the prize goes to those who open the door with open arms. Well done David! #7 // paul

Love this, David! Revelations 3:20 is one of my favorite verses. It reminds me of my grandma and how she taught me to love the Lord...wanted to thank you for commenting on my son's poem. I know he'll be thrilled to read the comments tomorrow and maybe he'll take a prayer request or two! Hugs, Rhonda

If clicks in to mind, surely. Any one of the six senses may click to open the door. After entering, examination is there of the candidate and of the examiner himself. So, better to take care before entering in to the door of love. You are a great philosopher of love depicted with a practical picture of love beautifully here. It's an excellent image. Loved always, my lovely friend,bl

Superb! I can just picture the hesitant knocking and the hushed breathing on the other side of the door of someone thinking "Do I dare?"

Love this write David, although most poets have a definitive meaning to their work, the best ones leave room for reader interpretation. My thoughts go to so many different places. I guess you left the door open for me.

What a clever write! The answer is yes, I heard Jesus's persistant knoking when I was in my 20s. Opening that door has proven to be my best decision.

Yes, very thank-you for Love's patients . . . I am sometime hard of hearing and don't realize the knocking. WD40 is a great idea! One foot in front of another.

Symbolic, for love can only knock, it can never force itself so you got to let it in...or not. Thought provoking, yet heart-warming. Great write you have here, David. Kim Patrice :)

Reminds me of the painting of Christ knocking at a door that doesn't have a means of opening the door from the outside.
