Lost Treasures

grappling thoughts on the edges of dusk my mind as full as this moon rising up I watch mesmerized from the window's panes as the sky erupts in crimson and mauve hues as the blushed moon rises beyond the skirt of sloped hills just above the curves of the river's beds i can almost hear the swiftness of its current in frames of mind as i watch the eagle swooping downward for a fresh meal memories escape from the corners of lips as i reminisce in the breaks of waves and smiles suddenly i transcend to another time another place frolicking from deep within like a mudlark unearthing treasures long ago lost somehow finding peace in the dusk of this evening i escape the reality of solitude before darkness falls upon me again in the shadows of yesterday April 6, 2020

wow, I think I see a first place coming up with this one, Sandy. So much thought put into yours. I quite liked the limerick I came up with for the topic of mudlark, but I do not know how Kai will feel about it! It could not be more different from yours in form and feeling!!

Nice one. Kind wishes, Kai. I have not judged the contest yet. Procrastination seems to be a result of lockdown. Kai

Thank you so much Kai...what else can one do after a month of lockdown but reflect and procrastinate … if one good thing is coming from this, it's more family time for those who were too busy to sit down and eat together and be involved with their children... perhaps people will emerge more connected after this... hugs

Extremely impressive contest entry, my friend. The imagery in the run-up to the mudlark is so intertwined with your being and your thoughts. I was awestruck, truth be told. Here's to your talented pen. Blessings, Gershon
