Explored Question” If someone handed you a box with everything in it that you had ever lost, what is the first thing you would look for?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” Michael Jordan
Every time I have lamented over something lost, I have managed to do without it at little cost. Getting over a loss is success, I don’t envisage much strife. But what doesn’t apply - in the box could not be a human life.
Thanks for your comment Yann. Yes I remember the first time I saw Michael Jordan "Fly" on TV, I thought he was a superhuman ! To be so humble as to let everyone know how many times he has lost and failed and turned all that into success, is another reason he is wonderful in my opinion. Cheers Best wishes Yann from Wen.
a great response to the contest prompt, SV! I agree...I've learned that I don't lament over the loss of material things, making me wonder why I had them in the first place. But loss of a loved one, that is a challenge for sure. You've touched about grief and loss in such a wonderfully unique manner. Faving this...have a great evening, Sara
Thanks my dear friend. Its a(n) euphemism to speak of losing a loved one. We don't misplace them, as we might an umbrella. Certainly don't put them in a box with other found , previously misplaced items. My poem only speaks of material items, and I don't feel callus saying that I probably would not take anything from the box that I have lost., Your comment divides the two scenarios perfectly. Thank you lovely Sara
The idea is that while it may be possible to move on from material losses, the loss of human life is irreplaceable and cannot be overcome in the same way. Your poem is straightforward and uses poignant vocabulary to convey a deep and meaningful message, dear SV. Best wishes for the contest.
Thank you for understanding my motive for writing this my friend. Lost and found items in a box can never equate to the profound feeling of grief felt when a person leaves your life. Lost items, found have often been replaced already, or found not to be needed or the feeling of loss has often long subsided. I doubt if I would care greatly to resurrect ownership of anything I have lost. I spend time trying to rid myself of "stuff". I love your comment. Thank you.
