Little Lie
Everyday I tell a harmless little lie
Because if I told the truth then I would be
Bombarded with questions of “Why?”
“Think of others who have hurts and pains” they say.
Just pray more, trust, and
Don’t be stressed, depressed or a drain.
Cause if I don’t tell this harmless little lie others will tire.
Ignore that every lie adds more suffocation to an already dying fire.
The more I say it, the easier it is to keep up the mask
I’m building the walls and every brick is made
With this task in mind
Inside, it isn’t as bright as some people think
It’s darker and continuously approaching the brink
I don’t trust that I’m not faking it,
And I don’t want to whine
So I say this little lie everyday that
I’m Fine.
