A Total Farce. For Darryl.

Perched on a limb High above the ground Sat a little birdie Looking all around Peering down among the people He cried with glee I see a tiny breadcrumb Just waiting for me! Soon the little birdie Flew to the ground Pecked at the breadcrumb But failed to look around. Then one of the people With a gleam in his eye Stomped the little birdie And watched him die. The moral to this story Is always look around And never eat your dinner Sitting on the ground.

Did you see "Bye, Bye Birdie yet? If you want to die or grow thinner On ground should eat your dinner And when you fly around in the skies; Surprise, it will trim your thighs. Ho, ho, ho.

Thankfully, it's fiction. Sometimes, I wonder where these things come from. I don't spend too much time thinking about it, however, or I would be worried. : - )

A light dusting of the funny bone. This is a spirited piece that deals with nature and an unpredictable and calamitous set of events. Emile.

Thanks for visiting, Emile. And, thanks for taking it as meant; as humorous fiction.

such a sad piece. mad even sadder by the fact there are people like that in the world. I love nature and things written for or about it, both in poetry or stories. Good advice at the end. So many of us fail to look around while staying focused on something and can end up hurt from an accident or someone's deliberate mean action towards us

Thank you for the visit, Bonnie. Yes, it is disheartening that there are people in the world who would harm someone or some thing unable to defend themselves. But evil exists in our world, and our best bet is to be aware, and avoid them if at all possible.
