Listening To the Hush
I sit here
grounded on the banks
a steady stream
of emotions
purl over mind's thoughts
as i skip stones
on the river below
listening to the echoes
as it babbles on
i've traveled
the same long
winding path
i watch it take
as it fades
into the fog
i close my eyes
listening to the hush
of another somber day
carried on the zephyr
of spring's rain
i see you
momentarily
reaching out
beyond shadows
before they fall
i sit here
grounded
on the banks
of time
awaiting
.... alone
