Life’s Guiding Light He stands alone against the twilight sky while guiding weary sailors on their course traversing every danger by and by that coastal waters seemingly endorse. A Beacon in the darkness lending hope to ship-worn seamen at their journeys end, this leading Lighthouse helping them to cope with perils they can never comprehend. His beams that penetrate the dark abyss will lead us steady down life’s foggy path to calmer seas within the harbor’s bliss and always keep us safe from evil’s wrath. With guiding rays that ever show the way, forever He will lead us come what may. August 25, 2022

John, this is such a delightful sonnet; exactly the kind I like to read (and write). Love your imagery, the lighthouse metaphor, your carefully crafted meter and rhyme, and the comforting message. Great sunset pic, too. Going in my faves. Blessings ~ John

I do like this lighthouse poem. I think they are such a great man-made beauty about which to write but also can be a metaphor for our Lord. Sara

He is. . . "A Beacon in the darkness lending hope." My heart is comforted knowing this truth. Your thoughts caress gently around me and my soul. At this moment, these words hold me so close. (They are needed). This is beautiful and tender, all at the same time. Many wonderful blessings to you, my dear sweet friend. Hugs, Brandy
