Life Anew
You reach that certain point in life
when your hair is thin and grey
The aches and pains more numerous now
as the body slowly gives way
Each day you search for purpose
in a world that moves too fast
Like a comet in the midnight sky
your life goes rushing past
Time once your friend now weighs on your mind
as the clock ticks relentlessly on
You lay each night to rest with the thought
that you may not see the dawn
For to release the spirit from this aging body
would bring an end to life that's true
But maybe somewhere out there is the peace we seek
as we make space for life to begin anew
