Your life is God's gift to you.
What you do with that gift is your gift back to Him.
Life is a real experience,
And often quite unfair.
Life can give and life can take,
Sometimes more than our share.
It seems to me that life asks more,
From some than it does from others;
Often giving preference,
To our neighbors, friends or brothers.
Some lives seem filled with blessings,
While others just get by.
Some have endless opportunities,
While others languish, die.
Some people don't give second thought,
To what tomorrow brings;
While others struggle, wrest what they can,
From today and cling,
To life that hangs oft by a thread,
For life has not been kind,
While those who live a privileged life,
To this are often blind.
Some are cruel and dole out pain,
To those who can't fight back.
Some will be their champions,
Cut them a little slack.
Life is a hard taskmaster,
Will kick you when you're down,
And it will keep on kicking,
If you stay on the ground.
It takes a little wisdom,
And a strong and sturdy spirit.
It takes a little bit of faith,
And a heart willing to hear it,
When God at times will send your way,
A little bit of hope,
An opportunity will rise,
To help you get a-float.
One must be quick to grab the rope,
And pull one's self up higher.
Be strong, be brave and hang on tight,
For Life It Seems Likes Fighters.
