Legacy

I have been thinking a lot recently as I ruminate, of how we get what we put into life, and forlornly, how our worst fears, we work to avoid, yet, by our attempts at avoidance we provide context into which they quietly glide. I am thinking of a friend who will confide her fear of growing old and alone. Implied in what she says is determination to give a legacy to her children. Her zeal to teach them right and the creation of a righteous life, she demands they deal under hard contract, dotting every I, and each leave her alone bitterly, by and by.
