Junkyard Haves

A chorus of boxes hums tonelessly on high rafters where unwieldy boxed and stocked memory realms squirm under drowsy dust just beyond my sight’s reach. On my journey, family, romantic loves, places and friends have deeply dipped me twisted then spun in bleary pieced feeling conditions that time tossed dark-shelved from my vision. But around does come moments of poignant grabs that hoist me thru the dust to see a memory touch and as I sit or lie with it, it seeps my depths inside of it. October 30, 2019

Marvelous write Cay Cay, you always have such unique phrasing, it was on full display with this write. Especially enjoyed the interspersed coincidental rhymes. What a treat!

If I was a multiple placement judge this would be placed much higher but sadly for some I am not. Still, this is very much just as worthy as second place with 10 others and more so. Your poems are never "everyday" and always reach deeper emotions like your final 3 lines allude.

Wow, she pops back in just to leave a jewel for us to find in this dusty cluttered poetic attic called Soup. Always a treasure when you write my friend.

Yes, I often love to open up those boxes to relieve memories....to lie with the and forget the passage of time. Thanks for this nostalgic piece, dear.

This is an amazing poem, CayCay. The images you've depicted are so familiar, so authentic, for who among us doesn't have these boxes put away and forgotten, unwieldy stacked, on some obscure shelf? And yet, the memories in them are so tender. The complexity of your phrasing, moreover, had me reading this several times, to glean all the meaning that I could from it. Bravo. Warmest wishes, Gershon
