July

Stifling heat broods on the land, smothers any impulse to stir. Sluggish afternoon hours drip, stick to the skin, steeping us in lethargy. 7/12/2017

That's exactly how we have been feeling this summer, like steeped teabags! A delightful poem, Agnes.

For sure! I know why hand fans and ice tea were part of the deep South! Congrats!

Congrats, Agnes! Your poems portrays very vividly the feel of summer humidity, something I m too familiar with, living in North Indian plains where this kind of sticky sultriness stays for months!

Come on down here a little deeper in the water, Mrs Agnes. Take a deep steep:) great poem very clever. That is exactly what being steeped must feel like. Open the door and let the sweat in.

It is dry-ER, but I'm melting anyway. It's usually not so hot this early. I guess global-warming is working its magic.

Thanks, Jan. As you probably know, almost all buildings here are air conditioned, so as long as you stay indoors, it's OK. Can't do anything outside during the day; I went for a walk at 8am and it was already over 80.

It's a little humid here with some storms around, but not that bad. Hope it gets cooler soon. Good one Agnes :)

Thanks, Heidi. Slight cooling expected Friday, then back to upper nineties for next week. I hate summer here.

You can say that again. The afternoons are the worst...I'm in one right now. : ) Nicely done Agnes.

Thanks, Chris. It is awful, upper nineties and humid. Makes my brain rot. I'd rather have scorching dry heat.
