July 28

It's very hot And my thoughts melt into the air like HeAtWaVeS I feel the Fire of my Foolishness And the Pain of my Passions I feel the very Sweat as it Drips from my Soul The Flame of all Desire is Raging Consuming my time As my heart Searches for a Long Cool Drink It is Suffocated in it's Endeavor - originally penned July 28 1990 something by a younger me

I really like seeing your oldie poem here Chris. Gosh 1990 I was not even writing then, and I was so young and fresh like a daisy still!!!

I don't think I was ever "daisy fresh", but I was young and a little wild...uh...and foolish!

What a coincidence, Chris!! Today I wrote a light poem based on summer heat and the inability to quench thirst (for idiom contest); still to be posted. I find your poem delightful, and I wonder whether after 26 years you still "feel the fire of my Foolishness and the Pain of my Passions"!! Regards // paul

I think we all have pain and regret, but at least 26 years later I am old enough to accept the past, live in the present, and look forward to the future:)...just thought this was the perfect summer to post!!
