Johnny Was Good-Part One

Johnny be good they said But did he have to be what he already was? Johnny had the skill to play So well his box bass guitar. Always under the grand tree by his dusty village gate where his audience loved him more Than own parents back at home. So good Johnny soon was that he had the world at his feet Albeit in a faint dream of the world he wanted and fully his heart consumed. So good was the naive johnny That be good as the said still a darling he was of his adoring peers. Johnny didn't change his attitude towards the vintage box guitar though his preacher dad with unseen Missionary who called him demonic came home carrying a black Bible and shook his head to drive Away the demon. Away from home all day, soon After village girls he ran, they said and to death they condemned him. But more handsome he was soon the darling of estate boys. The one they all worshipped. *This is a two part poem written for the contest MY FAVOURITE SONG. The poem was inspired by the song JOHNNY BE GOOD by Peter Tosh.
