Is It I-Is It I----No, It Is I

"Is It I?....Is It I?.... No!.... It Is I!" Twelve men gathered to take part in a supper that would be "The Lamb's" last! They were unaware of the events thereafter that would leave them all aghast! They only knew they had followed a man that would never lead them astray! They had no idea they would witness His demise after this very day! Amongst them sat a man with a bag full of silver in his hand. Thirty pieces was he given for a betrayal that had been planned! No one could imagine what was going on deep within his mind. With his betrayal his own death warrant had he unwittingly signed! The "Lamb" for whom this supper was held stood and spoke to one and all. "One of you which eateth with me shall betray me..." as approached the nightfall! As the twelve men looked around at each other looking eye to eye, a question went forth from each man's mouth, "Is it I?...Is it I?...Is it I? The man with the bag of silver, he knew the answer to this, for his betrayal would be done by giving "The Lamb" a kiss! After his betrayal he disturbingly had second thoughts! He came to realize that this "Lamb" was innocent of any and all charges brought! He tried to return the silver pieces after this was learned, but the plotters that he had conspired with laughed....and he was derisively spurned! He then went out and found a tree for he knew what he had to do! He self sacrificed for his betrayal had caused the sacrifice of "The Lamb" too! Back to this "Last Supper" in which these twelve men partook, one can't imagine his innermost thoughts as he avoided every man's look! When the "Lamb" spoke of His betrayer, they must have looked eye to eye, as he thought these words while the other men asked, "Is It I?....Is It I?".... "No!.... It Is I!"

Today's problems would even stretch further with 30 pieces of silver. Hate to think what that would buy. Good write Walter, Peace be with you this season...
