Invocation

Who keeps the sharp-beaked, soaring gull on its long journey south? And who the wide-winged pelican afloat now on the froth? What hands shape water's flowing course where thirsts are quenched and healed? What eye leads through full darkness when all weakness is revealed? What shoulders bear the driven wind or freezing rain and snow? What legs deliver daylight forth so seed and man may grow? What arms hold safe each living thing from storm and dreadful plight? What mind conceived of man himself and bid him to be light? Who keeps this universe in flow that all may live and see? And who, our living spirit guard, my Savior it is Thee! Invocation Common Verse 1-1-16

Thanks again, Linda. Wrote this one after talking to one of my daughters about "the powers that be." I like going out by this lake outside the city. It was still ice covered but I imagined the gulls and pelicans on their again as in spring and fall. Thanks again.
