Just a little musing and conversation with my God.

Lord, there are so many different opinions on Religion. I guess that's why there are so many different religions, each thinking they are the only ones who have it right. God is so many different things to so many different people. Even within the same faith opinions often vary. Not all opinions are correct. Not all religions are correct; and as far as I can tell of the ones who are correct, no single religion is absolutely correct. This I believe is because people interpret things differently. For Instance: We all know idolatry is wrong; so are the icons and statues in the Catholic Church wrong? I think not. No more than having pictures of your family or having a statue of a great leader such as George Washington or a great composer such as Betovan is wrong. We tend to pick out certain practices in other religions that, that particular religion is known for and try to find fault there because "WE DON'T DO THAT." Well just because we don't do it like that that doesn't necessarily make it wrong. No two people do anything exactly the same way To point fingers and say what someone else is doing is wrong because we do the same thing differently is wrong. All you do when you do that is bring yourself down by trying to make yourself look good at your brother's expense. God, please help me not to be like that and protect me from those who are. Let me be so busy cleaning up my own act that I have no time to notice my neighbor's problem. Let me be ready, willing and able to help when asked and smart enough to know when to mind my own business. Reveal Yourself to me that I may know You Personally as my Master and Savior. Show me how to bring You honor and glory and make my life a sweet smell to Your nostrils instead of a stink in Your nose. Forgive me for my many failings and know that in my heart I stand before You ashamed of my sins and wish I had not committed them because they are ugly in Your sight and separate me from Your Presence. Cleanse me I pray Thee of my sins Oh Lord, hide me beneath Thy wings that I may be protected from those that do the Enemy's bidding and let me be forever Yours and Yours Alone. Amen

All religions point to One Almighty God, no matter what we call Him no one person, irrespective of color, creed or nation is more important then the other and when we die, we feed the same planet. Most importantly humanity needs order in life, so basically belief in the basic 10 commandments, is paramount. The Messiah only one series with twelve episodes begs the question that we come from the same melting pot, and must respect one anothers ethnic culture, religious beliefs and norms. Hugs, JP

I agree with Debra, the bible should be our guide liens, not parts of it of course. Then there are the ten commandments. And our conscience tells us if we do wrong. Gd is merciful. Blessings

Hi Judy, Amen to this beautiful prayer. You are so right on a lot of things. So many religions, I think, if we read the Bible and let the Holy Spirit teach us. We may be better off. Blessing ~ Debra

It's funny how everyone sees God in a different light, everyone has their own interpretation of his teachings. As you say there are many religions all with their own beliefs but there is only one God. No where in his teachings does he say take up arms against those whose beliefs are different to yours. Thought provoking verse Judy. Hope your new year is off to a good start. Tom
