In Love
Every time we’re out
You ask me “What color should I buy or wear?”
Even when you know
It’s red, red, red I always say
You walk me up and down the mall
Love to dress me up in Gap
And Old Navy things
And on those days together
I’ll ask you back
“Did I tell you I love you, today?”
Even if I have
You’ll flirt and “NO” you’ll say
So, in tradition of…
The love game we play
I reply…
“Honey, guess what? I love you today”
Our lives, we’re so in love
But, plagued and driven by work
So, I tend to want to look ahead
Far off into the eternities
This is where…
I hope to look back
And see that I took
Every opportunity
To hold you, by the hand
And in my arms
Even, if…
It’s just watching TV or movie
Or even more, sharing in…
Some body language poetry
And forever keep our promise
That wherever we are
We’ll always end our days
Together with a prayer
And I’m still on the road
After all these years
Four days away from home
Is still hurting me
To know we’re
A thousand miles
Never near
"I miss you, baby"
