I’ll never forget what's her name She bought the teaching profession to shame Humiliating me in front of the class Her red ink comments always so crass! This woman was a history teacher but such a nasty vindictive creature As a child right from the start I was never much good at art We all have our talents I know And I did give the art work a go But drawing is not my forte And it let me down badly this day The lesson filled me with fear We were learning about Boudica I attempted my best to draw Yet this was the comment I saw “Boudica did not fight Martians!” She was poking fun at my expense I left the classroom feeling so tense So it was never a great mystery When I didn’t opt to study history! It’s been therapeutic to write This poem to put over my plight That a child should never be put down By a teacher who acts like a clown! *This is a true story and I only threw the book away when we moved house!! Based on the English pronunciation of the name which is like bow-de-seer I'LL NEVER FORGET WHAT'S HIS NAME (OR HER NAME) Poetry Contest Sponsored by John Lawless 9/16/19

I'm glad you are able to dispose of this monstrous teacher from your heart. she does not deserve any more of your thoughts...unless to rub her face in her meanness. congrats on your fab win.

How cruel to humiliate you Jan, what a nasty woman and clearly not a good teacher either. When this happens it can knock your confidence, but thankfully you have risen above it and look at you now! Kindest thoughts from Ann xx

Personally i wish you hadn't thrown the book away Jan. If you had managed to keep it for such a long time it must have had sentimental value to you. This is my favorite Teacher story. Did you know the Pub Chain Wetherspoons was named after 1 of the owners Teacher's who picked on him and told him he would never amount to anything. How do you like them Apple's

And now I'll never forget what's-her-name either, Jan. She sounds like a real witch with a capital B!... Teachers should realize that even an innocent error in teaching---let alone something like this---is counted as an intentional sin. (from the Talmud). Great write, Jan. Cheers, gw

Hi Jan, it is always sad how teachers can be vindictive, been there, have the T-shirt, it isn't fun. No kids should have to go through things like this. Sad to read you went through this Jan. Love the content. Have a wonderful Tuesday. Hugs....Mike. XX

Hi Jan, Teachers should never ridicule or embarras their students. Because things said could last a lifetime. Art is not for everyone. It's sad to hear that you had to go through that. I wish you the best of luck in the contest. Have wonderful day-Alexis
