If the Spirit Moves Me

If the spirit moves me I will speak I will share words that no-one wants to hear I will speak them I will speak them loud and clear If the spirit moves me If the spirit moves me I will see I will see Beauty that no-one else can see I will see it far and near around me and in all things If the spirit moves me If the spirit moves me I will hear I will hear things no-one else can hear I will hear the universe speaking to me and I will hear If the spirit moves me If the spirit moves me I will feel I will feel the pain of others I will feel their happiness too I will be able to empathize If the spirit moves me If the spirit moves me I will taste joy and laughter I will live my life in peace I will find love I will live on in the ever-after If the spirit moves me © Christine A Kysely All Rights Reserved (October 25, 2011 Wausau, Wisconsin USA)

Hello Christine . . . Very well done. I like your organization of your poem based on the conditional use of "If," and its repetition as the poem builds out. Your are certainly right -- the "Spirit" is the base element in moving each and everyone of us to continually achieve and to seek success. Without the "Spirit" one can lose a sense of purpose, direction in life's activities. Again, a great job on this theme. Cheers and Best Wishes, Gary

True... There are things that we want to do, have and feel but we don't. Sometimes we just need to be move by the spirit

Your poem reminds me of Coleridge's Kubla Khan; Yes, it's quite necessary to be moved by The Spirit to dive into poetry

So true..the "if". What is it that seems to throw..switchlike..the "I". Whose hand is on that switch..mine or the spirits. I think when I understand that I will find a greater peace. Wonderful poem. Had a quick look..breakfast now..at one of your haiku, and part of me is annoyed at how your poetry touches me and the other just wants to get lost in it. Well there goes my morning :)

I really felt this poem. You put feelings in a nutshell. Sometimes we are just not moved to do anything, then suddenly...

Very beautiful and moving. I am not a religous person, and I don't see this as a religious poem. The spirit can be many things and this poem speaks to me too.. Very good writing.

Just beautiful, Christine! Without his Spirit, we're no less than beasts in the wild. His Spirit will continue to move you. Well done.
