if I had all the money that I ever wanted, I suppose that I could travel the world; live in a better home, buy designer clothes and stuff, if money was no object in my life . . . but you see money cannot help me, each day my health is more delicate, slipping further away; and all the money in the universe will not change a thing, this is my struggle and my daily reality . . . the things I give myself are simple, relaxing music to soothe this weary soul; peace, tranquility and love to ease my pain, and I ask the Lord for acceptance . . . in meditation I try to fathom the why, of course, with money I could go to a fancy retreat; but a corner in my bedroom is set aside for meditation and relaxing, and it is there I have placed peaceful things that cost very little . . . . perhaps with money I could get better drugs, but no drug is going to change this girl's destiny; this I know deep in my heart and soul, I have for a long, long time . . . I think a lot about my past and life so far, the paths I took or did not take; the things I said or did not say, could money have changed my journey in any way . . . a warm bath, a cozy bed, a sweet purring cat, paper and pen so I can write; my laptop within reach, a walk in nature listening to the birds, a loved one to hold my hand . . . . these are my indulgences and they may not seem like much to you, but I feel like the wealthiest person in this world; for money cannot buy happiness nor can it buy life, all I need is the indulgence of tranquility . . . ''and that comes from within'' ____________________________ January 28, 2015 Poetry/Free Verse/if I had money Copyright Protected, ID 01-636-474-28 All Rights Reserved, 2021, Constance La France Submitted to the Standard Contest, No 259, Brian Strand, Seventh Place _______________________________ Submitted to the Standard contest, Poems That Are Soup Favorites, sponsor, Poet Destroyer, Tenth Place _________________________________________ Submitted to the Premier contest , Indulgences, sponsor, Shadow, Judged 02/2015 First Place In Top 100 Poems on January, 2021 Submitted to the Premier contest, Your Personal Favorite, No. 2 sponsor, L. Emotional poem, but with so much truth. Money cannot buy everything in life. Even friends have to love and "Accept" you for who you are. You a true friend in my life. I am glad I came to read this a fav. my friend.

Constance this is so beautiful and true. As I face my health issues it has taking me into a world of search to be what I once was. through prayer and deep devotion I pray and hope there is a change for the better. I do what I can to find relief but it is a constant struggle. Money would not change anything for me. Only my Lord can and what I feel inside to get through. Your words were written with a sincere truth that only those that can look deep within themselves can realize. God bless you for

This broke my heart in some ways, but lifted my spirit in others. I have a daughter like you, who lives with multiple health problems and is in constant pain. I wrote a poem about it called "Tears for a Child". Of course she just turned 60, but things will never be easy for her. Some are progressive. This beautiful poem shows a woman with great courage and a strong spirit. You are remarkable.

but a corner in my bedroom is set aside for meditation and relaxing, and it is there I have placed peaceful things that cost very little . . . . this part of your work say's a thousand things and brings about a thousand more. I like the pure voice of what I guess they would say is free verse; just sounds like a persons soul I can't find that so easily I like the work.

This Beautifully written piece moved me to tears. First sad tears and then happy tears when you see the fortitude and bravery as she accepts and commands control of her of the peace from within that will carry her through. The little things in life, can mean the most. I am in awe! Blessings!

Such a beautiful written poem this is, probably one of my best on this site, it was so deep, yeah it s truth that we come to this world alone and we ll be buried in the grave totally alone, no money could help, now a days to everyone money is everything but they forgot that money can t help you buying happiness, you can t buy a sincair friend with money, a happy family without money is thousand times better than a rich family with conflicts, May God bless you, a very nice inspirational poem

Broken Wings. I had not seen this poem until today. So I extend to you well deserved congrats. Isn't it amazing, "The things that are within us"? There is much that I could say about you and this poem that is so priceless and enriching. Words like beautiful. wow!, and sobering come to mind; but even they fall short. God bless you my friend.
