I Worry, I Worry

I worry, I worry, I worry, knowing that I cannot protect you from everything -- knowing that I cannot protect you from yourself. Craving a taste of that imaginary condition -- freedom -- full of the allure of no constraints, you flee from me. And you bridle under the bonds of others' expectations reining you in. I fear for you, enormously. And I am quivering in my rage at those who might, even unknowingly, do you harm. May you allow, if grudgingly, the "powers that be" -- (whatever that means) -- and me -- to shield you.

You are so obviously a parent "I fear for you, enormously. And I am quivering in my rage at those who might, even unknowingly, do you harm." I love this!
