I Want To Write a New Poem Today

This morning, inside my breast I feel that time is ebbing away speeding past like a runaway train the 16 waking hours of each day this loss leaves me reeling in pain the page before me is crisp white unmarred by pen or inked mark fading away in the sleepy night Like thunder, this beating heart bursting now with thoughts bound in unexpressed feelings held inside closed, uncharted ground If I could only somehow meld words in expressive illumination with sharp, image stamping verbiage I’d write a rhyming narration.

Methinks you just did write a rhyming narration!!! I can totally relate my friend... although at this ripe old age of 79, I would have expected to be drooling and soiling my Pampers for Seniors! But I'm still sharp as a... crack... sack... frack... tack!!! That's it... a tack!

Well, I'm 79 too. But not for long, my 80th birthday is only two months away. Hubby is 82. I tease him that I will always be younger than him. Who knew that it would be like this, that we would still be looking forward to new things at this age? We've been married 60 years. Loved your comment, Jack. And, reading your poems is a trip down humor avenue.

Never thought a poem can be written even about a "writer's block". This proves that there is no limit to a poet's imagination. Great one, Cona. Smiles from the land of thousand isles. :D Kim
