I Do Need You Lord, But Why
Forsaken prayer time, as shattered mirrors
retract horrid rapes, bullets, suicide
misses and deadly kisses evoke shame
in halls etched with bloody sins, again; I
cannot pray away the stench of forlorn
choices and voices of disgust, I trust
no man, I understand the flesh detest
righteousness-best suited for the accused.
Yet, I refuse to seek the meek will God
founded before the foundation of the
a world, before Adam and Eve thus walked
and the serpent still stalks weak vows allowed
to ponder vacant hearts unsaved, unscathed
bathing in ridicule for so long; so-
long I search with remorse the course I took
The love I forsook, the book I need now.
Now my lungs expand with praise raised to fly
As heaven resonates with Holy cries!
Holy is the Lamb of God...Praise our God!
