I BEGGED YOU TO STOP You see me already sitting at the corner heads down unto folded arms, bent on knees... When tears and cries, all that left to say still, your tongue is as sharp as a wooden ax, slowly cutting me like that of a CT scan. Sobs, groans rocked and rolled earthquake in my bones, I beg hard for you dear mother to stop. STOP! but sadly, you didn't... You didn't... Left to right you again whipped me with shouts, your eyes mad like that of a lion ready to devour. Frightened, the most I can do is to stare down, beholding my two pained, beaten bruised legs, knees shaking despite my hands holding them tight, also my fingertips dance in terror. Again, I beg hard for you dear mother to stop but traumatic, you are there but you aren't listening... Like the disturbed tidal waves of the sea, your palms non-stop lapping hard: thud! thud! Even your digits keep on squeezing my skin. A cheap make-up colored red and black are scattered free all over my flesh, except for some purple spheres in my wrists. I beg hard for you dear mother to stop but all your eyes mirror is remorse... Stop! It changes you forever to be abused. It makes you empathetic to anyone going through it, makes you want to reach out to those in need, to counsel those. Makes you a loving mother who treats your children how you only wish you could have been treated. I think this is so well written with profound insight of knowing. I can relate. Very sad. That some mums become abusive parents their parents were. Its a never ending circle. That affects generation after generation. Very well composed!

Dear Olive_eloi, this is such a strong and expressive poem that shows abuse for what it is....mostly fear and heartbreak. You do well to bring awareness to such a topic which has become too common. Hugs // paul

This is a sad poem that shouts of abuse, cruelty and a child's love. The author shows the reader with words a “Kodak” moment in the life of a victim of abuse by an insensitive mother. This piece struggles with feelings of hate, fear, revulsion and love in a potent brew of emotions. Emile. #7

It seems that this isn't an isolated experience. Growing up you feel that it is normal and everyone goes through the abuse so you keep it to yourself and ashame it's happen. You grow up to be an adult and you relize it's not normal then the hatred starts to fester and it's hard to forgive. Some of us mirror the abuse others say we are not going to allow our children to go thru such shame. This poem is so descriptive it brings tears. Hugs Eve

Tears and tears at the heart reading this, and like you Richard, I was also abused, not by my parents, but when I was fostered out. Nobody should endure such, nobody. Olive, our yesterdays will be gone, but never forgotten. Soon, hugs//always, your Huge One xxxx

Olive....I'm so sorry to read this. It cuts deep. Abuse is a terrible burden to bear. The memories never leave. This poem touched my to the core. May you find comfort in knowing the Father loves you.
