Honeymoon From Hell a Collaboration With Jan Allison

Now the wedding had drawn to a close the ceremony past We found ourselves together and thankfully alone at last We packed our bibs and bobs into suitcases very quickly Rushed straight out the door though I felt a little sickly The shining taxi was waiting to whisk us away Airport then plane our trip was finally underway On the plane to his charms I was not immune This was going to be our magical honeymoon Coughing and spluttering in the hotel I did lay Could not get out of bed each and every day To cruise rugged fiords our plan said next So out of my sick bed I raised perplexed This is not what I was thinking to expect Romance and passion seemed to disconnect On a small ship along the rugged coast we then did sail Reveling in the sweet air with every breath we inhaled At last I thought my dream has finally come true Our honeymoon would be joyous and not blue At the Close of the day to the hotel we wandered Through this night our love would not be squandered It was wishful thinking we were soon to realize The honeymoon room had a bed but only single size This is not what we expected when we happily set out Dreams of intimate passion is what we thought about The journey continued at a sedate pace The wonderful views put a smile on our face Sadly food poisoning hit me I was constantly sick Sat hours in the toilets, hubby didn't take the Mick I can now look back at my honeymoon from hell Twenty four years married we are doing quite well

This does seem like an adequate name to the honeymoon but at least you stayed with each other through all of your life so that makes it worthwhile. Thanks for sharing your work with us. Sara K

It does give you stories to tell and memories share...reminds me of mine when we were fishing in a boat on a river and she 5 months pregnant... Ah good times....cheers

The funny thing is when you reminisce about stuff like this you find that time has softened the memory and you can laugh about it now.

I told Jan that my honeymoon had gone smoothly and she told her tale of disaster and I could not help but put it to pen with her assistance. Thank you for stopping in and your generous words. Love Shane xxx

OH..a true story!!! Wow! That is sad, but glad that it didn't ruin a marriage. Have you seen the movie JUST MARRIED? Ashton Kutcher and somebody or other....same sort of story, but they survived and thrived.

It just goes to show that no matter what start true love always comes through. Even though I don't him I know that that Bob is Jan's other half. Together they are one. Love Shane

Sadly Eileen it is pretty much true - Shane was writing for a contest at home and needed inspiration so I told him my story - we had the honeymoon from Hell was ill on the journey there was getting a fluey cold then in every hotel we stayed at we had single beds in the rooms lol. To top it all I got food poisoning on the last day of the cruise so was firing at both ends on the train journey home :-( But after 24 years in June we are still together :-) Hugs jan xx
