Home Sweet Home
Home Sweet Home
Hausfrau swirls her supple plus blouse
Over twin scents of caramel and chocolate
Memories baking for a half dozen gleeful children
Elated to be racing up the driveway to a fairy tale.
Singing barely heard above the brass section
Works the dough with metallic taps and touches
Ever so precise in their shaping of
Elegant jewels from a warm heart
To pass on a museum of priceless memories.
Her beacon smile and broad beckoning arms
Open the doorway wider than any storybook
Mother now, daughter still, she wipes her eyes quickly
Eternally indebted to this apparition she has always called: “Home”.
