Home Eternal

HOME ETERNAL House and home The beating heart Of awaken A living thing of wood and brick Alive because you stirred the air Had there those youthful dreams On return so many many years You see her in decline This purple house and home This image shocks clear down With urge to leave forget But something makes you stand and stare To look clear past the ghastly sight Something there is still indoors resides And the snow and rain of old Quite wash your castle clean Twin ghost of that inside Calmly climbs the old porch steps To meet himself within Dave Austin

Pleased to be reading this poem again, Daver. That final stanza is a fitting ending to revisiting emotions mood. [ Andrea wrote something on similar lines lately!] All the best. // paul
